Help with Parks Passport

Most things can be sorted out in a minute or two. If yours isn't below, email us and a person will read it.

I paid for the Stamp Pack but my stamps are locked

Open Parks Passport, go to Settings, and tap Restore Purchases. The App Store ties your purchase to your Apple Account rather than to a device, so a restore is what reconnects it after reinstalling the app or moving to a new iPhone. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with — a purchase made on a family member's account will not restore onto yours.

If a restore doesn't bring the pack back, email us with the date of purchase and we will sort it out. You never need to buy the pack twice.

My stamps are missing on a new device

Your collection lives in your own private iCloud database, not on our servers. That means it follows your Apple Account rather than your phone — but it also means it only appears once that account is signed in and iCloud Drive is switched on.

Check Settings → your name → iCloud on the device, confirm you are signed in to the same Apple Account, and make sure Parks Passport is allowed to use iCloud. Sync can take a moment on a slow connection. If your stamps still haven't appeared after that, get in touch before making any changes — nothing is lost, and we would rather help you recover it than have you start over.

Stamping by location isn't working

Location is entirely optional: you can always search for a park and stamp it by hand. If you want the location shortcut, Parks Passport needs permission to see where you are. Open Settings → Parks Passport → Location and choose While Using the App. Precise Location should also be on, since park boundaries are the whole point.

Deep in a park you may have no signal at all. Location still works offline, but a first fix can take longer under tree cover or in a canyon. If you'd rather not wait, stamp the park by name and set the date — the result is identical.

A park is missing, or its details are wrong

Parks Passport covers 474 places — every National Park Service unit plus the affiliated areas listed alongside them. Names, designations and boundaries do change, and we would genuinely like to know when something is off.

Email us the park's name and what looks wrong. If a site is missing entirely, say where it is and we will look into adding it.

Getting in touch

Write to support@parks-passport.app. It reaches a small team, so expect a reply within a few working days rather than within the hour.

It helps enormously if you include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what you expected to happen versus what actually did. Screenshots are welcome. Please don't send passwords or Apple Account credentials — we will never ask for them.

For what the app stores and why, see the privacy policy. For general questions about how Parks Passport works, the FAQ is probably faster than waiting on us.
