Parks Passport

Parks Passport is designed to collect National Park stamps, not your data. This policy explains, in plain terms, what the app does and does not do with your information. The short version: the app collects no personal data, has no account, and sends nothing to us or to any server we run.
Who we are
Parks Passport is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. National Park Service or any government agency.

Data we collect
None. We do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal information. There is no sign up, no account, no login, and no user profile. We do not run analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash reporting that identifies you.
Your stamp collection
The parks you stamp and the dates you save are stored on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, that collection also syncs through your own private iCloud account so it stays with you across your devices.
This sync uses Apple's iCloud (CloudKit private database). Your collection lives in your personal iCloud space. We, the developer, cannot see it, access it, or retrieve it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
Location
Parks Passport can use your location to show which parks are near you. This is optional, and the app works without it.
When you allow location access:
- Location is used only while the app is open. The app does not track your location in the background.
- Your location is used on the device to find nearby parks. It is never sent off the device, never stored, and never shared with us or anyone else.
You can turn location access on or off at any time in the Settings app under Parks Passport.
Purchases
If you buy a Stamp Pack, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment details. Whether you own a pack is confirmed through Apple's system, tied to your Apple ID. Apple's handling of purchase information is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
Children
Parks Passport does not collect data from anyone, including children. The app is suitable for all ages.
Third parties
We do not share data with third parties, because we do not collect any. The only services involved are Apple's own iCloud and App Store, which you already use as part of your Apple device.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date above. Because the app collects no personal data, we do not expect meaningful changes.
